Built to empower UK home buyers

Move Smooth was founded by Scott Wheatley to give home buyers clearer, more practical support throughout the buying process.

My journey into property started through a design lens, working alongside a respected firm involved in architectural design, surveying, and planning. It gave me early exposure to how properties are understood beyond the surface, from how spaces work and buildings are shaped, to how the right guidance can help people make better decisions.

I later returned to America, where I grew up, and became a licensed real estate agent in Minnesota. Working on the selling side gave me my first direct experience of the property market, helping clients market, negotiate, and sell their homes in a system where most purchases involve both a selling agent and a buying agent.

After returning to England, I began working with a multi-branch regional estate agency. One thing became increasingly clear: sellers almost always had professional representation, while buyers were often making major decisions with limited guidance, fragmented information, and very little structured support of their own.

That gap became difficult to ignore.

The problem we seek to solve

Buying a home is one of the most impactful decisions most people make, yet the process is often slow, fragmented, and stressful.

The UK government has described the current home buying and selling process as “long, complicated and frustrating,” highlighting that around 1 in 3 transactions fail and cost buyers and sellers around £400 million per year in wasted costs.
